When you own a company you get a few perks. The simple fact that you’re the boss should let you get away with a couple of things that you wouldn’t if you were a mere employee, within reason, of course. But in the fiercely competitive world of today, there are even more things to gain from being a boss.

Companies that want your service will stop at nothing to get it. For example, it’s not at all uncommon for car dealerships to offer you a vehicle if you choose to go with their service for your company’s fleet of cars. It’s a small price to pay for your loyalty, really, and what they’ll be making in car sales and repairs will more than make up for it. It’s also a nice little way to thank you for your preference.

Of course the big things are nice, but sometimes there’s beauty in the little things that you’re offered, like gift baskets or those clever free gifts with mobile contracts. That’s right, phone companies will also try to butter you up to get your service, and little gadgets and accessories, along with state of the art new phones, is just the way they do it.

I’m a bit of a closet domainer and to be fair with you I think I’ve got some pretty decent names under my belt . . . I’m not talking the biggies like shopping.ca or anything like that, but I do have so high quality, relevant domains that generate a fair bit of traffic by themselves.

Like most I have my own preferred supplier for my domain name registration purposes. I’m comfortable with my registrar, the services they provide and the way that they do business. I have toyed with the idea of becoming a registrar myself, but to be honest I don’t theink the cost and the hassle is worth it to me at the moment.

I’m also seeing a range of new domain name registration services hitting the market these days, and whilst I have my favourite, I’m still quite happy to give these boys a try – you just don’t know what’s out there untill you try it for yourself do you?

I think that above all, when I’m registering domain names, what I’m looking for is a good quality, fast and simple back end system that allows me to manage all my domains in one place – so long as I’ve got that, I’m generally pretty happy. An API is also good but that’s not a concern to most domainers who are just registering ad-hoc.

Cell phone companies are known for throwing in fees that you don’t really know about until you get your bill. The activation fee can be as much as $25 dollars so you need to look over your contract before you sign so that you are aware of everything. If you take your time and don’t let the sales person talk over your head, then you will know all the details and get the best mobile phone deals that can be found.

There is one question that you can ask that will be helpful to you in the future of your cell phone contract. Ask how many times you can change your package within the time of your contract. You never know what will happen next year and if you need to change you plan, you should be able to do that. Maybe you will need to downsize or even upgrade and you want to do that without being charged a fee.
Cancellation fees will be at least one-hundred and fifty dollars and this amount will depend on your provider. If you come across a better cell phone deal, you will have to wait for your contract to end before you can change to another carrier.

What’s the difference between Mobile Broadband and Wireless Internet?

Things can get confusing with all these internet terms floating around. One good example is the difference between wireless internet and mobile broadband. People tend to get these confused if they don’t know the difference between the two technologies.

What is the difference between mobile broadband and wireless internet?

The main difference is mobility. Wireless internet is still connected to your home. You can’t go very far away from your house without loosing your internet signal. This is because traditional broadband works either via the cable TV company or the hard-wired telephone company. In both cases, the connection is still wired into your home.

Mobile broadband, on the other hand, uses a cell phone signal. As you may know, cell phone towers are everywhere. That means you are not restricted to getting an internet connection in your home anymore. Mobile broadband allows you to take your internet with you anywhere you go.

How can wireless internet be called “wireless” if it still requires a cable to connect to it?

That’s a very good question. The reason it’s called wireless is because it gets rid of the wires between computers and modems. The hardware powering wireless internet is called a modem. It requires the cable TV signal to be plugged into it. And it acts as the transmitter to nearby computers. Technically, you could call mobile broadband the ultimate form of wireless internet. However, mobile broadband came along after wireless internet. Mobile broadband didn’t receive the title of “wireless” because the name was already taken.

Anybody can create a website, but only a few can create sites that generate income and high traffic. In order for one to become good at web designing, development and maintenance, here are some of the training requirements that he needs to complete.

Well, aside from the obvious stuff like having an Internet connection and a passion for the web, a webmaster must be knowledgeable in a good programming language for web coding. Some of the most widely-used languages are HTML, PHP, Flash, and Javascript. Experts advise that once you’ve found the perfect programming language, stick to it. Chances are, your website will look more professionally coded rather than mixing all the languages to form one single site.

Another good training would be knowledge in search engine optimization. SEO is becoming an independent industry itself, because a lot of sites want to rank higher in search engine. In this way, they get to attract more visitors and gain popularity.

A solid background in custom style sheets and graphic design are also helpful in a webmaster’s career. This is because images and text compose a website, and without the right training, you might end up getting intimidated and lose interest in the project altogether. Custom style sheets, also known as CSS, are also helpful so you won’t have to code a single change in the font style in your site.

The training requirements are not limited to these. There are still a lot of things to be learned to be able to pull off a great website.

Because the Internet has become virtually a prerequisite to the existence of a business or organization, the webmaster has become one of the most powerful and influential people in the world. This is because they help make a person, organization, and a business or political entity survive the need to be afloat in the market because of stiff global competitiveness. That is why it remains one of the most sought-after jobs in the world. This goes to show how much powerful the Internet has gone in changing the course of modern civilization.

Aside from designing and creating a site, the webmaster is also highly needed to maintain the web server as well as keep it running. This is not an easy job though. Some would require a webmaster who has adequate education, training and experience in web technology and computer programming. He also needs to have a great deal of keenness, intelligence and a highly creative nature as well as great attention to details. With all the technological skills needed, a webmaster’s qualification is completed with excellent communications skills to ensure that web content is substantial and that it has all the necessary information to site’s purpose to people visiting the site.

A brief enumeration of a highly marketable webmaster includes among others the following: knowledge in HTML or Hypertext Markup Language, which is a must. He should also be able to have some other web skills such as CGI programming, JavaScript, and Flash, artistic skills put into use through computer graphics programs, database knowledge, and of course excellent writing ability, which focuses in marketing.

A webmaster is an owner or creator of a website. Most of the time, a webmaster can also be considered to be a businessman because websites are mostly used as or for a business an organization. Advertising is the most important part of any website and it is something that any and all webmasters should be aware about in order to succeed in their endeavour.

There are a lot of different reasons why someone would put up a website, but basically the key factor in each site is the same, website traffic. This will dictate how effective the website is because of the number of people who are able to visit it. The more people who goes to the site then it gets more popularity, more popularity means more advertisers would be interested in placing links in the site’s ad spaces. So when it comes right down to it, giving time and effort in improving traffic should be the priority of any webmaster.

In order to successfully increase traffic, the webmaster should take steps towards making it search engine friendly through a process known as Search Engine Optimization or SEO. There are different techniques that can be used with this process such as effectively placing keywords throughout the site, using Pay per Click advertisement and basically trying to spread the word that the site exists. Success of a webmaster can be measured not just with the amount of money he or she is making, rather it is the interest the site is able to create.

Privacy is a very important right. As a matter of fact, people regard to privacy as something that is almost equal to their lifestyle level. However, as we move towards enhanced technology with the internet, new ideals seem to have corrupted this idea.

With the internet, we are able to create and put up our identity online. As such, even pictures are put online for identification for our friends, as a lot of people share their first names and last names. It is very rare to find a name that is alone in the world of the internet. While the idea was simply pure, to enhance communication, corrupted minds, and careless decisions have led us to the issue in internet privacy.

Websites and people have their own faults to this issue. However, websites and systems were designed to fit according to the wishes of people themselves.

People have privacy options in most websites and online systems. In fact, a lot of websites have already enhanced this feature. From public and private options only, it has now extended to a middle option, public to one’s list of contacts and private outside the list.

People have their own decisions in displaying photos online. It is a strict rule in the majority of websites to avoid uploading photos or videos that include pornography.

Tools and software are developed for good use. However, people know how to abuse these, almost by nature.

Some websites and online systems have disabled the Copy and Paste function, but people also know the power of PRINT SCREEN.

It is a tough world out here, and it is almost the same in the virtual world. And jut as the same, it is us, the people, who have caused these issues to ourselves.

A well-made website will indeed gain many potential customers, and they will be more interested in the product or service that you are offering. However, a well-made website doesn’t need to be packed of graphic designs as well. Believe it or not, a small number of webmasters still create poor designed websites, which tends to mess up the World Wide Web each day.

If your client wants you to develop a website that sells products, you should concentrate more on the contents than on the graphics. Good graphic designs suits website galleries, personal websites and community websites. If your plan is to create a website that is easy to use and to understand, and at the same time, eye-catching, here are some tips for you.

The simpler the better. The readers must see all the things that they want to see the first time they visit a website. As much as possible, go directly to the subject of the website you’re creating.

Easy navigation is a must. Before you start creating a website, first, you need to make a template of where you would put the navigation links of the website. Should it be at the top, at the left or at the right side? Just make sure that you place these navigation links where the visitors could easily see them.

Use text links rather than icon links. A well-made website should always be user-friendly. There are still lots of people that don’t understand the meaning of standard icons. If you still want to use icons, don’t forget to add a label under the icon so that the visitors would know what it means.

Add a tutorial. Most of the times, people get lazy and they don’t want to explore the website on their own, that’s why you should put a step by step guide that tells them what to do next.

Choose standard font styles. Times New Roman, Verdana or Arial are the commonly used font styles. Be reminded that visitors would want to read clear texts than stylish texts.
